Modular Conveyor Lift
Lifting boxes in and out of a crate from any side.
Problem
Boxes needed to move vertically into and out of a crate, and be loaded or unloaded from any side.
Solution
A winch-driven platform with an Arduino-controlled stepper motor for accurate positioning. I applied design for manufacturing and assembly throughout: fewer, simpler parts, process-friendly materials and fasteners. We made the parts in-house, with waterjet-cut and press-brake-formed metal and 3D printed pulleys and fittings.
Outcome
The prototype lifted and moved its 20 lb target load. I also built the bill of materials.
